The large oil company BP (British Petroleum) has created a bad reputation for foreign oil by neglecting to fix the many safety concerns. BP has taken make cost-cutting measures and as a consequence there have been many injuries and over 20 fatalities for the workers. Frontline investigated the company and they saw how it has slowly become more and more dangerous. Oil spills are incredibly dangerous as well because they lead to fire, explosions, and the deaths and injuries of many of the BP employees. There is a huge lack in leadership in the company and that is the main cause of the confusion with safety measures and cost-cutting. BP has lost a lot of trust and they aren't fulfilling their policy to keep their employees safe.
The Deepwater Horizon Disaster referes to the tragic explosion and oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico by BP. BP is the largest oil company to date. It killed 11 people and is particularly bad because there were many things that could have been done to prevent this disaster. BP wanted to cut the costs so they avoided doing simple things that are safety measures. They didn't seal cement blocks which led to the biggest oil spill around the world. BP was being lazy and wanted to save money and that led to a disaster which could have been prevented.
