Over the years, meth has become the most distributed drug in the United States. The ingredients have become more and more dangerous and the meth has become so pure that it is now the most dangerous drug on the market. The meth can deteriorate your body and will potentially kill you.

Big Pharma and Meth Cooks Agree: Keep Colds Over the Counter. Dir. npr. npr, 26 Sept. 2013. npr.org. Web. 27 Feb. 2014. <http://www.npr.org/2013/09/26/226476602/big-pharma-and-meth-cooks-agree-keep-cold-meds-over-the-counter>.

The meth epidemic is not slowing down at all and is becoming more and more dangerous as time goes on because the cold medicine pseudophedrine which is a main ingredient in meth, is not a prescription drug in any state besides Oregon. This allows the cooks of meth access to the ingredients that they need to make the meth through the "shake and bake" method. The "shake and bake" method is when the cooks put all of the ingredients together and shake them to crystallize it. When they make the meth like this it causes fires and explosions. When Oregon made pseudophedrine a prescription drug that can only be bought over the counter, the number of meth labs in the states have decreased by 90% because Oregon was the largest meth producing state in the United States. The passing of this law would decrease the production of this deadly drug.
